What makes our SCITT programmes unique?
our programme is completely personalised to each candidate; no two people have the same experience because we only train between 20 and 25 each year. Unlike the big university models where you would be one of 200 trainee teachers, we tailor the year to maximise your skills and make you better prepared to teach. As a result, our employment rates are consistently high in the local area [100% in 1617]
because our trainees don’t have to attend University lectures, we have time to give them a bespoke enrichment programme running alongside the mainstream school placements. Our trainees teach in primary schools, pupil referral units, Special Educational Needs settings and Sixth Forms (see our full partner list here). They also spend two days at our local private school to teach children with English as an additional language.
our programme is competitively priced because we know graduates are already carrying huge university debts. We charge £6165 for the year, as opposed to £9k, but we also give a free qualification for secondary trainees in addition to QTS so they leave as Chartered Teachers of the PSHE Association [Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education]. This gives them an edge over other candidates when applying for jobs, and fully prepares them for teaching beyond the curriculum and preparing their pupils for life in modern Britain.
